Hello Anne,

Good to hear from you again! Veggie produce would be just fine! Really, whatever people would like to do is fine with me. There is plenty of room to grow as many vegetables that as many people as possible could ever dream of (77 acres).

I'm on city water, so I'd like to devise ponds and swales for irrigation, rather than spraying chlorine and flouride and who know what else on food. Your crew would be welcome to use it, but hopefully that could be minimized as much as possible for the health of the plants and the water bill. I'm imagining you like to use sheet mulching, et al?

I hope you've been staying cool.

Hi Anne,

Thanks for getting back to me! My property is about 6 miles northwest of the downtown square. It's on N. Maple Grove Rd., not too far from North High School. What sorts of projects are your peeps interested in? My focus as of late has been long-term planning & planting for perennials for edible food forests/forest gardens/agroforestry/fruit tree guilds. Other than that, ponds/swales/rain systems/natural irrigation seem pretty important right now.

Hi Anne, Is your friend Alex? He has been great and I should see him tomorrow when we meet with the interns again. May Creek has decided to explore partnering with like minded people or groups who would be interested in utilizing some of the resources that are available here. If you would like to explore this you can call me at 824-6875 or 322-3547. Perhaps we could arrange a visit.

At the public information meeting on May 6, INDOT passed out a sheet with their traffic count numbers for 2010. They were rounded off to the nearest thousand--unlike the numbers for previous years--and as far as I know, INDOT has not yet posted these new numbers to their website like the others. Also, they weren't strictly comparable, because the intervals that were measured were slightly different (there was one segment that was treated together in previous years and broken down in 2010 or vice versa; I can't remember which). I don't have the numbers with me at the moment, unfortunately. Most of them were higher than the last year we had, so they appear to reverse the downward trend. However, they definitely don't show the strong predictions of growth that were the premise of this project.

Yes, the project calls for significant widening--double left turn lanes at major intersections throughout the bypass.

I'll email you more details. Stay tuned.
